Graham Norton: Isn’t there a thing about your lightsaber being a different color? Is that story true?
Samuel L. Jackson: The purple lightsaber? Yeah—You know, when I first got [the role of Mace Windu in Star Wars], I didn’t know what I was gonna do. When I said I wanted to be in Star Wars, George invited me over to the ranch and I told him, “Look. I just want to be in your movie. I’ll be a Stormtrooper, you put me in one of those white suits, I’ll run across the screen. Nobody needs to know that but me. And I’ll be happy.” He said, “No, we’ll figure out something.” So I got over here and he made me a Jedi. And I did some scenes with Yoda, and I did some scenes with Liam, and everything was great. Then I came back the next year, glad they didn’t kill me off. There was this big arena. Fight scene. With all these Jedi and they’re fighting or whatever. (x)
